1. Background

The Ebara Group developed the long-term vision “E-Vision 2030” in 2020 and set “thorough environmental management” as one of its key issues and is now making every effort to achieve carbon neutrality. Meanwhile, following the basic policy of the long-term management plan “E-Plan 2025”, the Group continues to promote reduction of environmental loads through its products and services, with “Evolving ESG Operations” as a focus area.

2. Overview

The Ebara Group has set GHG emission reduction targets through 2030 in order to realize a sustainable society and the Group's mutual development.

・Scope 1,2: 55% reduction by 2030 compared to 2018 (1.5°C level)

・Scope 3 (Category 11): 25% reduction by 2030 compared to 2021 (WB2°C level)

On this occasion, the above targets are successfully certified as SBT's short-term targets for meeting the standard requirements of the Paris Agreement.

3. Future

The Ebara Group aims to achieve carbon neutrality across the entire value chain (Scope 1,2,3) by 2050. Going forward, we will continue to reduce GHG emissions through a wide range of measures, such as vigorously promoting energy conservation, actively expanding the use of renewable energy, and continuously upgrading the environmental ratings of our products and services.
